More yoga in Lymington for autumn
A yoga class to suit everyone at the Natural Health Hub, Lymington, New Forest
Ahh for yoga! So absolutely wonderful for both body and soul, and here speaking is a person of action for whom yes, it does
take some determination to make that commitment to a regular class but who also can enthuse and really, totally, recommend to everybody - for exercising the parts that we don't otherwise and which are highly necessary to keep us supple as we live longer, and for relaxing both muscles and spirit, in turn influencing us to be kinder to both ourselves and others...there's simply too much to say about it which is good! Sue will tell you all about it below so I'll let her take over now! Ed!
Yoga classes for autumn at the Hub
The Natural Health Hub, already recognised as the New Forest’s hub for yoga, is increasing its classes. The Lymington health and well-being centre welcomes three new yoga teachers in September, starts two new beginners’ courses and extends its repertoire to include several different types of yoga, from traditional hatha (the all-time favourite), to flowing vinyasa to challenging ashtanga and fitness yoga. A particular highlight, on Friday mornings, is a women-only gentle, nurturing, meditative group.
Come and join us on the mat. Whatever your age, level of experience, fitness and wishes from your yoga, there is something for you. Mix and match your styles for a full and varied week that's guaranteed to give you a calm, clear mind to allow you to simply go with the flow of life. If you've never tried yoga before, September, with all our new classes, will be a great time to start. Every day, including Saturday, you can start the day the yoga way.
THE NEW CLASSES…
Women’s nurturing yoga with Cathy Rose
Fridays 9-10am
A blissful start to the morning of deep relaxation and soul nourishment. This women-only class explores various forms of meditation, breath work and gentle, flowing yoga postures to leave you feeling deeply relaxed, soft and open. Cathy brings her experience of shamanic healing and facilitating women’s circles, along with years of teaching yoga from a soul-centred perspective. This class will appeal to those seeking a sanctuary-like space to relax, heal and reconnect to their feminine energy.
Fitness yoga with Catherine Brennan
Saturdays 9-10am
Fitness yoga is a combination of yoga and pilates-inspired movements. The aim is to develop flexibility, increase overall strength and improve core stability. The class is designed to combine a body workout with a relaxing atmosphere for mind and soul. Designed for anyone, whatever your fitness, age and experience of yoga.
Dynamic vinyasa with Varvara Dranidis
Wednesdays 9-10am
Varvara’s dynamic vinyasa yoga is a beautiful mix of strengthening but also softening and releasing asanas (postures) to encourage you to let go. Incorporating breath work, alignment, mindfulness and challenges for focus and fun… As Varvara is also a qualified massage therapist she always finishes savasana with a deeply soothing head and neck adjust to relax you further.
‘I create my classes to be accessible to all. I have a natural caring nature and love to share yoga with like-minded people. Yoga for me is about a continual journey on and off the mat to understand the mind, quieten the chitta vritti (our monkey minds) and gain better quality of life through breath, movement and meditation. Deep down yoga gives you a sense of self-belief, added positivity and gratitude, reducing fear and suffering, and making us feel alive. The wonderful thing is that it’s available for everyone and can be incorporated into all lifestyles – it also usefully rubs off on others in the process…’
Varvara brings over 20 years’ yoga practice to The Hub, including launching the enduringly successful yoga and wellness holiday, Wildwind, in Greece.
Beginners’ yoga with Hannah Bimpson
5-week course starting Thursday 19 September, 7.30-8.30pm
For complete beginners or those coming back to yoga after many years, Hannah’s short course will slowly introduce you to traditional hatha yoga. As everyone will be a beginner the class will move at a gentle pace, with verbal and hands-on adjustment cues to guide you. A safe and comfortable environment where you can ask questions and begin the journey of becoming more in tune with your body and mind.
ALSO ON OFFER…MORE CLASSES
Hatha with Hannah The mainstay of our yoga at The Hub, this is one of the traditional forms of practice, from which other types have originated. If you’ve done yoga before and don’t know what type it was, the odds are it was hatha! Suitable for: everyone.
Vinyasa with Clare Collins Meaning ‘flow’, vinyasa interlinks postures to create a flowing, more dynamic physical challenge using a beautiful mix of strengthening but also softening and releasing asanas. Suitable for: all levels of experience. A moderate level of fitness required – although you don’t have to be a gym bunny!
Ashtanga with Zoë Porter Taught in the classical sequence of yogic poses, ashtanga is a heady, vigorous practice coupled with soft, beautiful chanting and breath work. Zoë is a free spirit who is passionate about her yoga, particularly the rigour yet releasing abilities of ashtanga, with a love for body art and spiritualism. Suitable for: anyone who is reasonably fit and wants a physical challenge, plus those who would like to extend their yoga practice by focusing on precision in their asanas.
Yogic relaxation with Hannah The perfect way to shut off from the outside world and concentrate solely on the present moment, this monthly evening group blends a mixture of yogic breath work, chanting and yoga nidra to de-stress and revitalise your mind, body and soul.
Weekly classes cost £10, payable on the day to the instructor. You can browse the full range of yoga classes, read about the teachers and choose which is right for you on the yoga section of our website, where you will also find the full timetable of classes and booking system. How many times have you said to yourself that you’re lacking motivation, feeling lost and don’t have enough energy to enjoy life to its fullest? You’re not alone. For so many of us the stress and anxieties of daily life have built up, and before we know it they start to affect us physically, emotionally as well as mentally.
As a polarity therapist it is my role to look at the whole story to see where the pain or the blocks are coming from. It is true in all of us that our physical and emotional issues will affect us mentally, and it is here that we started to build a picture and realise how Ann’s history was now affecting her future.
By freeing those forces our thoughts become clearer, pain lessens (or disappears) and we can find ourselves thinking differently and opening up to new interpretations or solutions. For Ann this was when she recognised the underlying issues that had caused her to fall out of love with her work and hold her back from enjoying her much-loved activities.

Because of these concerns we’re advocates of the Dr’s Remedy nailcare range at The Hub. As well as being free from all the toxins mentioned, they are not tested on animals, are vegan friendly and contain a range of organic ingredients.
The Natural Health Hub’s Rhi Hepple describes how she went from being so ill with an autoimmune disorder that a specialist said nothing further could be done and she just had to learn to live with her symptoms, to living a full, symptom-free, happy life of fulfilment and positivity. She tells how naturopathic nutrition turned her health and whole life around, and started her on a path of wanting to help others – a job she now loves.

A huge number of ailments! What my experience has found it is especially good at resolving, where perhaps you may be struggling with standard drugs, is:
Teaching people to use homeopathy for themselves
I set up The Hub in May 2017 because homeopathy is not the be-all-and-end-all. Sometimes I can help someone only up to a certain point, then they need another kind of complementary help. Sometimes I fail to help. Sometimes a person is more prepared to go down a more traditional route, such as dietary advice, than to embrace homeopathy. Often people are seeking stress relief and escape from their day-to-day life, or tools to cope better with their illness or emotional difficulties, over and above what I can offer as a homeopath. At times someone is ready for a spiritual journey that explores other therapies.
