Charity
Lymington and the New Forest have a number of important charities supporting the local community.
Local charities hold a special place in the Lymington and New Forest community, such as Oakhaven Hospice, which relies on fundraising for nearly 90% of its running costs. Many provide assistance and opportunity to others, such as the New Forest Basics Bank, Olivia Inspires, Hammersley Homes and Força - Strength Against Cancer.
During the course of the year there are a number of charitable events in and around Lymington, including the Lymington Lifeboat 10k run and children's fun runs in May, Lymington Carnival in July and the Oakhaven Santa Dash in December. Many local organisations also get involved with national events, such as Children in Need, Comic Relief and Sports Relief.
If you are keen to find out more about local charitable organisations and becoming a volunteer, keep an eye on our events calendar for local volunteer fairs, or contact local charities direct.
