Each summer, the stunning gardens in the grounds of Amanda Mann’s beautiful home are opened up to the public for one unique and very special weekend of music and culture in order to raise money for worthy causes. Our generous hostess has created a truly amazing annual fundraising event, that is as much about connection as it is about music.
This year, the Sunday event happens to fall on Father’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than to come and enjoy an afternoon of live New Orleans rhythm and blues in a beautiful garden, with the people who matter most?
The Kingfisher’s Music Weekend has become one of the most warmly anticipated events in the Hampshire calendar – an opportunity to share something joyful with friends and family, whilst helping to fund the very necessary work and services that enhance the lives of people suffering with mental health challenges. This year, Amanda has generously chosen to again support us – Hammersley Homes – with the addition of another amazing local charity working in the mental health arena – the Coda Music & Arts Trust.

Sunday 21st June (Father’s Day): Rhythm & Blues from The Cosimo Matassa Project – doors 12:30pm, performance from 3pm.

Following last year’s remarkable turnout, Hampshire mental health charities Hammersley Homes and The Coda Music & Arts Trust are delighted to announce their participation in the Kingfishers Music Weekend Fundraiser. This spectacular open-air event is set in the stunning garden of Amanda Mann’s home in Lymington, which is opened up to the public once a year, for one special weekend of music and culture to raise money for worthy causes. This year’s extravaganza features an evening of Opera on Saturday 20th June followed by an afternoon of Rhythm and Blues on the Sunday 21st June, which happens to be Father’s Day.
The Kingfishers Music Weekend has become one of the most warmly anticipated events in the Hampshire calendar – an opportunity to share something joyful with friends and family, while helping to fund the very necessary work and services that enhance the lives of people suffering with mental health challenges.
Saturday evening will be a celebration of Opera, transporting audiences through some of the most beloved and dramatic works in the classical repertoire. Sunday then brings a change of tempo with a Rhythm and Blues line-up from The Cosimo Matassa Project, the perfect soundtrack to a Father’s Day afternoon in the garden.
Every penny raised from the event will go directly towards supporting the vital missions of these two charities: providing support and activities for people who struggle with mental health challenges.
Hammersley Homes founder, Louise Hallett, says: “We are honoured to be one of the charities chosen to benefit from this fabulous weekend of music, and last year’s event exceeded all our expectations - the atmosphere was simply magical. We’re thrilled to be doing it all again, and with Opera on Saturday and Rhythm and Blues on Father’s Day on the Sunday, we really couldn’t have asked for a better combination. Come and enjoy some glorious music, raise a glass, and help us continue our vital work supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Bring a picnic, a blanket or chair and good company and settle in to make unforgettable memories.”
