Media Release: 'Dogstival is cooking up a feast of canine entertainment!'

Dogstival, the UK’s most unique festival for dogs and dog-lovers returns to Burley Park in the heart of the New Forest on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June with even more entertainment for our four-legged friends. In partnership with sponsors Naturo a ‘festival first’ sees the launch of a chef’s stage and cookery school dedicated to dogs.

The Naturo Healthy Hound Kitchen will host the ultimate dog’s dinner of a line-up that includes ‘doggy fine dining’ dishes and a Bark Off baking challenge. Any dogs with a birthday around the festival weekend will be invited to a giant ‘tea pawty’ to celebrate in style.

Commenting on the Kitchen, festival director Richard Nowell said:

“Every festival we look to create new and exciting features that dogs will love, and food is probably the biggest source of excitement for our pampered pooches. We are delighted to again welcome headline sponsors Naturo and be partnering with them to curate the Healthy Hound Kitchen with a weekend of foodie fun. It’s a great new addition to the festival and something you won’t see anywhere else this summer.”

Using only 100% natural ingredients, just like their pet food, the Naturo Healthy Hound Kitchen aims to showcase all the benefits of healthy diet for our dogs. As well as getting ‘hands on’ in the Cookery School baking treats or whipping up delicious dog-friendly lollipops there’s also talks and tips from the Naturo nutrition team and led my UK Marketing Manager Eva Mooney.

“We are thrilled to return as headline sponsors of Dogstival for the 3rd year in a row! Working closely with leading nutritionists, Naturo Natural Pet Food’s recipes contain 100% Natural ingredients, with added vitamin and minerals to ensure they meet the nutritional needs of a healthy, and happy furry friend. We’ve teamed up with Dogstival to create the Healthy Hound Kitchen- our most exciting activation yet! Come along and join the fun!”

Welcoming around 10,000 dog-lovers over the weekend, Dogstival is also aiming to entertain the whole family with a big top marquee hosting circus shows, comedy and street theatre performances with plenty of crowd participation guaranteed.

Crowned the Best Pet Day Out 2023 by the Animal Star Awards, Dogstival has more ‘have a go activities’ than any other dog festival or day out. With two giant diving and splash pools, flyball, agility, scent work, lure racing and several ‘scurries’ for dogs of all sizes or breeds.

The Naturo Main Arena will host large scale shows and demonstrations from leading local dog behaviorists and there’s plenty of chances to claim a rosette in one of the Fun Dog Show classes.

Dog lovers can also visit the nation’s most dog friendly pub in partnership with local watering hole The White Buck Inn part of the Fuller’s Pub Group estate. The Buddies Bar will be a pub like no other with Barking Bingo, pub quizzes, breed meet ups and plenty of chances to win treats for your dog.

As well as putting canine entertainment at the heart of the festival, organisers aim to continue to build on their eco-friendly credentials In 2024 Dogstival managed to recycle 67.5% of their waste and reduced their carbon pawprint by 74% by switching to bio-fuels and solar to help power some of the smaller stages.

No festival is complete without food and for both hound and human, Dogstival has heaps to tempt the tastebuds. For dogs, expect treats and puppuccinos from Pop & Bark, and marvellous meaty flavours at the Lickie Mat Café from the Raw Pet Food Pantry to name but a few, and for humans, food will also be ‘local’ from Hampshire and New Forest artisan producers. Plus, there will more than 130 stands bursting with goodies to treat a pooch and live music creating a proper festival vibe.

New for 2025, get practising your downward dog at our new Doga studio a fun way to exercise and bond with your dog. No tiddling on the yoga matts!
