How to keep your feet cool in hot weather

Keeping feet cool - and healthy - in hot weather

Paul Gray

This is a very simple guide to help keep your feet cool during this rather hot summer we are experiencing.

Start first thing in the morning when you’re having a shower or bath by thoroughly washing your feet, don’t just let the water run over them. By doing this it will remove those little organisms that can cause foot odour. When getting dressed thoroughly dry your feet especially in between the toes as this is often the place where fungus can take hold and cause athletes foot odour. Once your feet are dry spray surgical spirit all over, this will cool and astringe the feet. Lastly then use your spray antiperspirant/ deodorant all over your feet, this also cools the feet and helps reduce perspiration. Always wear clean socks and if you have the time at work at lunchtime change into a fresh pair and give them a quick going over with a wet wipe and a quick spray with your antiperspirant. Lastly try to avoid wearing the same shoes on consecutive days as this will give them a chance to air and dry out .

I hope this has been helpful and that your feet will feel cooler through this heat. If you have any other foot issues that you need help with please book an appointment at www.lymingtonchiro.co.uk
