The Larder Claimed

Business Details

The Larder, Earley Court, Lymington

The Larder is a lively Lymington cafe in Earley Court which now has a large covered, heated, outside dining area in which coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed whatever the weather NEW Tapas Thurs and Fri eves.

Husband and wife team Karl and Esther-Kate Cheshire recently took over this Lymington cafe and deli and have already gained a large and enthusiastic local following.

Having created an atmospheric heated and covered courtyard (with more screening and sealing coming soon to make it really cosy for winter), Karl and E-K have now introduced evening tapas on Thursdays and Fridays. As you can see from the launch party photo in the main image above, the atmosphere is great!

larder breakfast

The Larder is now much more than a cafe, it's a friendly and convivial meeting place which serves delicious meals starting with breakfast, through mid morning cakes to wide ranging lunch to afternoon tea and through on Thursday and Friday evenings to tapas too. It's also a special deli where having tasted Karl's dishes you can buy the exact same ingredients to use in your own cooking and meal preparation, too.

Open Monday to Saturday; Tapas Evenings every Thursday and Friday

The Larder is now open Mondays through Saturdays, with Tapas Evenings every Thursday and Friday 6-9pm (see details below).

Take a look at the Larder website to see all that's on offer!

The Coffee!

The talk in town is that the coffee at the Larder is THE best - so a very good reason to drop in the first time! (Includes all manner of options, and of course if you prefer tea there's also a wide range.)

Epic breakfasts from 9am

Karl is passionate about serving a hearty breakfast to those who appreciate one (and don't we all on occasion!); his legendary and lavishly praised crispy bacon sandwiches will certainly set you up for the day.

All food home made and fresh

Karl is a self confessed foodie whose long time dream has been to own his own restaurant and it shows - in every element from the carefully selected and mainly locally sourced ingredients, to the loving preparation to the presentation. The tomatoes come from the Isle of Wight and the process to create the tomato soup begins with roasting down the cherry tomatoes; nearly all the delicious cakes are home made on the premises.

All dietary needs are catered for and the gigantic vegan platter is a delicious feast for anybody who appreciates fresh food (including wonderful almonds!) and a great melange of flavours.

The enormous and delicious Scotch eggs are made with the freshest and best of sausage meat from Sway Butchers and cooked to perfection with that just soft egg inside. (If you feel the urge having eaten a whole one yourself; you can also buy these to take home for those who missed out!)

Those extra little touches

The clientele includes literally everyone, from visitors on a day out, to locals of all ages including mums meeting for lunch or bringing their children after school, to business folk catching up, to cyclists with their helmets...all are made equally welcome. There are lextra little touches everywhere - for example you'll spot that some of the tables have a blackboard surface so the children can scribble away to their hearts' contents.

Thursday and Friday evening Tapas

"If people don't want to necessarily go to a pub or restaurant for a meal we offer that perfect in-between with a really laid-back, friendly vibe," says Esther-Kate.

When the wine glasses come out, the music goes on and the courtyard is lit up, there's also a switch to table service, a real change to the daytime style. It's all really casual, relaxed - and fun!
