Sway is a village and civil parish in Hampshire, and on the southern edge of the New Forest. The parish was formed in 1879, when land was taken from the extensive parish of Boldre and given to other parishes. The village has lots of shops and two pubs, and a railway station on the South West Main Line operated by South Western Railway, going from Weymouth to London Waterloo. Sway has a village hall, a church, a Church of England primary school and a number of restaurants and hotels. There are a lot of sporting facilities in Sway, such as football clubs, a tennis club, Sway Cricket Club, a fencing club, an archery club, community choir, and a gardening club. The village of Sway has a population of 2,433 and the civil parish’s population is 3,476.
