South Lawn Hotel

Lymington Road, Milford-on-Sea, Lymington, Hampshire SO41 ORF

Business Details

The South Lawn Hotel, formerly a country house, occupies a beautiful setting with large peaceful grounds. It includes a large banqueting facility ideally suited for weddings. The Cornwallis Suite has an adjoining private bar and french windows leading out to the terrace and gardens. There is capacity for ceremonies for up to 110 guests and for standing receptions up to 175. The South Lawn Hotel is licensed to host both civil ceremonies and civil partnerships.

The newly renovated and modernised Cedar Tree Restaurant (named because of the enormous cedar tree in the grounds of the South Lawn) offers a very pleasant dining environment in which thanks to generous soft furnishings it's easy to have a conversation - a rarity these days!  There's always a good value daily menu (2 or 3 courses) and the extensive a la carte menu offers starters at approx £6, very generous main courses at £10 - £16, and extremely good value real "puddings", at under £5.

  • Great dog friendly hotel #nfdogfriendly

Our room was absolutely enormous, big enough for the two of us and our two dogs with room to spare. You can take your dogs to the restaurant in the dedicated ‘doggy dining’ area and they were given their own sausages at breakfast time which was a nice touch.

  • December lunch

    ,

We had a really nice lunch beautifully served and delicious, with the lovely view out over the gardens and especially of the South Lawn's magnificent cedar tree...also the view from where we were sitting in to the bar areas was very pleasant. It was also lovely to be on a carpet! Most places these days are very clattery and as we get a bit older (not that old!) it's harder to hear what's being said by the people we're sitting with, because so many other sounds get in the way. A carpet simply absorbs a lot of the unwelcome sound leaving you free to relax and enjoy your companions' company!
