It is a great time to become a member of RLymYC. In 2022 the Club celebrated its centenary - the Club has come a long way in its first one hundred years, from a somewhat elitist organisation to one which nowadays embraces everyone active on the water.

Moor overnight on our private pontoon, lift your boat at a discounted rate, use our launch service to access your river mooring or borrow a tender. Store your dinghy in one of our two dinghy parks (subject to availability). Our expert boatmen are always on hand to help.
The Club’s racing credentials are impeccable, staging the famous Royal Lymington Cup match-racing series for three decades and attracting the most famous sailors in the world to Lymington. Sailing stars such as Olympic medallists Sir Ben Ainslie, Pippa Wilson, Sarah Gosling, Nick Rogers, world match-racing champion Ian Williams, plus numerous young talents are all very much part of the Royal Lymington family.
The Club runs regular dinghy and keelboat racing from March to November. In a normal year, RLymYC will organise over 200 days of organised sailing events, start over 400 races and run over 20 open events which attract over 800 entrants. RLymYC keelboats compete at national level and members are regular prize winners in individual classes at Cowes Week and in the Round the Island Race.
A respected RYA training centre for power and sail, children and adults, RLymYC provides regular training courses and hosts a breadth of racing and sailing regattas, championships and events.
The thriving Junior and Youth section welcomes sailors to join regular year-round training and inspires a life-long passion for sailing, with outstanding coaching led by dedicated Head Coach, Hugh Styles (2019 British Sailing Team Coach of the Year). Discounted rates for members.
Many of the Club's young sailors enjoy high-quality coaching and training in nationally and internationally successful fleets of Optimists, RS Teras, RS Aeros, Lasers/ILCAs, RS Fevas, 29er and 420s, which set exceptional standards of performance and development of individuals.
Sailing encourages a lively social scene ashore! It is very much a fraternity of the like-minded, the bar being the centre of activity. The Club organises social events and activities for all ages throughout the year, including cycling, rowing, walks, book club, art, photography, yoga, pilates, dance, language classes, wine tasting, winter talks, suppers, quiz nights, kids movie nights and more!
The Cruising Division hosts a whole range of events for motor and sailing yachts throughout the year. The RLymYC burgee is flown around the world by Members cruising in South America, Australia, the Baltic, the North Sea coasts of Scotland and Scandinavia, Atlantic Spain and the Mediterranean, and the cruising grounds closer to home.
