Royal Lymington Yacht Club aims to be successful on the water, friendly and welcoming ashore. An active club for all ages, from coaching junior and youth dinghy sailors to racing keel-boats and cruising. A social club house with bar and restaurant.
Every year, RLymYC runs over 200 days of organised sailing events, starts over 400 races and runs a dozen or so open events which attract over 800 entrants.
Their keel-boats compete at national level and members are regular prize winners in individual classes at Cowes Week and in the Round the Island Race.
The Cruising Division hosts a whole range of events for motor and sailing yachts throughout the year.
The RLymYC burgee is flown round the world by Members cruising in South America, Australia, the Baltic, the North Sea coasts of Scotland and Scandinavia, Atlantic Spain and the Mediterranean as well as the cruising grounds closer to home.
Many junior and youth sailors enjoy high quality coaching and training in nationally and internationally successful fleets of Optimists, 29ers, Teras, Lasers and 420s, which set exceptional standards of performance and development of individuals.
Many young sailors are selected to RYA training squads go on to take part in World and European championships. Patron: Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.
