Lymington CE Infant School provides an outstanding start to your child’s education. Based in the New Forest, Hampshire on the same site as Lymington Junior School it offers seamless primary education in Lymington.
It's a very special school - as below!
Encouraging a love of reading is always a priority and the school has just had a fabulous book week - the theme was the Enchanted Forest and staff changed areas of the school into a magical forest as a surprise.
Other recent highlights have been visits to the library, local author in, book swaps, Sell Your Story and now there’s even a reading dog as part of the Read2Dogs programme!
The school's participation in the Oakhaven Hospice Acorn project and regular visits to local Linden House Dementia Care Home (Easter Bonnets coming up) underline the links with the local community and teach important foundations for life to come. The wonderful Robins Choir are performing ever more regularly including joining the choir at St Thomas' Church for the Mothering Sunday service on 22 March.
“Lymington Infant School lays the foundations for life by offering a rich, enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all its pupils. We are a happy and welcoming school rooted firmly in Christian principles with a family feel based on excellent interpersonal relationships.
At Lymington Infant School, our children are seen as individuals, each with their own strengths and interests; we want them to have opportunities to explore and develop their love of learning. To support them with this, we believe the best thing to do is to teach children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning and asking questions.
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” Robert F. Kennedy
We also believe that every child should experience the world beyond the classroom. We are investing in ensuring that our classrooms allow for indoor-outdoor freeflow education, so that this is accessible to all children throughout their time with us, as opportunities for outdoor learning experiences are often remembered for a lifetime. Learning outdoors can be enjoyable, creative, challenging and adventurous and helps children learn by experience and grow as confident and responsible citizens who value and appreciate the natural environment.
We see our school as an important part of the local community, we want our children to value that community and to be valuable members of it. At Lymington Infant School we believe that our school is enriched by working with the local community and we relish opportunities to work with our neighbours. We host termly community teas, where the children share their learning and develop their communication skills.
We finished in the top 10% of Hampshire in KS1 SATS last year with many of our children achieving well above the national average.
