Chiropractic treatments and care are suitable for all and offer relief from common ailments and injuries such as back pain, neck pain and headache through to sports injuries and much more. Chiropractors are “neuro-musculoskeletal experts”, helping people with pain due to their back, neck, shoulders or hips, whether a long-term problem or something which has just happened.
Chiropractic treatment involves safe, often gentle, specific adjustments to the joints, primarily in the spine, but can include other joints in the body. Chiropractors may adjust by hand (traditional Chiropractic adjusting) or may use a combination of stretches and joint mobilisation to effect a change. This article explains more about what chiropractors do and what to expect at a first visit.
Subtle lifestyle changes will be encouraged, an exercise regime or a change in posture, dietary and working habits - for more energy and to feel better in everyday life. For example, a lot of issues begin with bad posture - good posture incorporating a "neutral spine" is a something we should all aim for to help our bodies to remain fit and healthy. You may find this article about posture quite enlightening!

Sports Chiropractic Treatment
Lymington Chiropractic Clinic's resident Sports Chiropractor, Aleksander, has experienced regular lower back pain, having suffered a disc prolapse at 17 when he was preparing for his Norwegian military service. Thanks to his local chiropractor he made a full recovery. Having experienced the transformational effects of chiropractic treatment, Aleksander uses a mix of Functional Analysis and Gait Analysis techniques to help get his patients mobilised, back to their sport and feeling better.

Traditional acupuncture is a person-centred therapeutic approach, where each person is recognised as a unique individual. Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing. You may notice other niggling problems resolve as your main health complaint improves.

As part of our range of complementary therapies aromatherapy massage is now provided by Ellie Whitehall, Clinical Aromatherapist MIFPA
Aromatherapy aims to treat the whole person by helping to restore the harmony of mind, body and spirit. It works with the pure properties of plants, using their essential oils in a natural, complementary therapy which is said to help improve both physical and emotional well-being. It is often used in therapeutic massage (aromatherapy massage) with the benefit of relaxing or uplifting fragrances.
The full body aromatherapy massage lasts for 75 minutes, but if you have less time, there are 30 and 45 minute options.
There are plenty of aromas to choose from and each have different therapeutic properties. After a full consultation a number of essential oils are selected to suit your individual needs. These oils are then blended with a vegetable oil - known as a carrier oil - before being applied to the skin.
This therapy is suitable for most adults but there are certain conditions where you should avoid aromatherapy, so to ensure the well-being of clients all treatments begin with a consultation to enable me to make sure aromatherapy is right for you. In some instances your GP’s permission may be required before treatments can commence.
Ellie holds a Diploma in Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Science from Neal’s Yard Remedies, London and is a member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists. Prior to becoming an aromatherapist, Ellie spent many years in the NHS in various clinical roles including nurse and health visitor.
Neal’s Yard Remedies products are used in all aromatherapy massages. These products are made in England, organic and not tested on animals.
Holistic massage is a therapeutic application of touch that is also a supportive, relaxing treatment that encourages the mind to slow down whilst energy is increased. This therapy also lifts the spirit on an emotional level.

The term Reiki is a Japanese word (pronounced ‘Ray-kee’) and is often translated as "universal life-force energy". Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on technique and is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonising all aspects of the person - body, mind, emotions and spirit.
This therapy lasts for 30 minutes.
Thinking of a gift for a superwoman who needs a break?
Ellie, will choose essential oils to help them truly relax and ease the stresses and strains of life (even if it is for just an hour!) Alternatively, how about a holistic massage which uses base oils without the essential oils?
Just having that time out can be so beneficial to mind, body and spirit. Vouchers are available for both Aromatherapy and Holistic Massage from Lymington Chiropractic Clinic.
