Looking for a summer day out in Hampshire? From 23rd July to 31st August 2026, New Forest Wildlife Park is running a season of extra family activities alongside amazing animals. Set beneath the shaded woodland canopy of the New Forest, the park is home to over 200 animals, including four species of otter, Hampshire's only wolverine, and its newest arrivals, a pair of European grey wolves.
Throughout the summer holidays, additional keeper talks run across the day, giving visitors the chance to learn more about the animals and ask questions directly. Younger children can burn off energy at the sensory sandpit, stepping-stone bridges and climbing areas of Mini Go Wild, while older kids take on the spider-web climbing frame, rope merry-go-round and giant multi-person rope swing next door.
For a bit of extra fun, families can pick up a summer picture wildlife bingo card for £3 and see how many animals they can spot around the park. When it's time to rest, there's a café for refreshments or plenty of space to enjoy a picnic in the woodland surroundings.
The event is included with standard admission and is suitable for all ages. New Forest Wildlife Park is located on Deerleap Lane, Ashurst, Southampton, SO40 4UH. More info: www.newforestwildlifepark.co.uk/whats-on/events/summer/
