A weekly support and companionship group for people with dementia and their carers which is held on Thursday mornings at the Oakhaven Wellbeing Centre in the Coates Centre building at Oakhaven Hospice.
This friendly, welcoming group is hosted weekly on Thursday mornings by Cynthia and Celia of the Lymington Dementia Action Group and the Bonhomie Charity.
We get together over a cuppa and slice of cake, to chat and support one another. Those who have joined the group have made friends with each other and reclaimed their social lives; they also always make new people feel welcome.
As members of the Lymington Dementia Action Group Cynthia and Celia understand the many challenges of living with dementia and caring for someone who is coming to terms with it - there is plenty of support and help available and they can point you in the right direction to more specific information and support.
For more information telephone the Coates Centre on 01590 638521 (there is an answer machine if no-one is available to pick up your call so please leave a message) or drop in for a chat with Cynthia and Celia on a Thursday morning and see for yourself. You will be made to feel most welcome.
Oakhaven Wellbeing is based in the Coates Centre, set within the grounds of the Hospice. It's a welcoming and safe haven, open from 10am until 4pm Monday to Friday, where you can meet and share your concerns with others who understand.
At the Coates Centre you can also access our counselling and complementary therapies, take part in our wellbeing activities…. or just simply sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. So do call 01590 638521 - or just come along and see for yourself between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
