Love In The Air?
Having heralded spring in the air last week, apologies - the week since hasn't felt much like it!
And now does it feel like Valentine's Day? I suppose it depends on your perspective...
'True love fosters a connection that goes beyond the superficial. It's a bond that often involves understanding each other's core values, beliefs, and life goals. This connection creates a sense of companionship, where both partners feel they're on the same team, working towards common dreams.'
If you've had love like this in your life, it must surely be 'better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all' - I'm telling myself so anyway. And most importantly here's wishing full dining rooms to our local establishments, valiantly keeping going for us through challenging economic times and this dreary winter. (Watch out for a possible a glimmer of sun later today.) If you haven't booked yet it may not be too late, because restaurants are taking advantage of Valentine's Day falling on a Friday to offering repeat sittings tomorrow - including the very special Cambium at Carey's Manor whose delicious dessert is featured above.
And so Happy Valentine's Day one and all and with a special mention for Lymington Community Centre. The new Bridget Jones film Mad About the Boy has been much heralded for general release on Valentine's Day. And already from 28th of this month it will be screening at our very own Malt Cinema. Click here today, to enjoy an entertaining preview. It's a timely illustration of how soon after general release you can see the latest films here in Lymington, with free parking and very reasonably priced drinks to accompany. And whilst on the subject, at the Malt on 27 February you can also experience the Royal Ballet dancing Swan Lake, 'live' at the Royal Opera House!
Also for Valentine's Weekend: how unfathomably deep the love of dog owners for our treasured, loving and loyal canine companions. If you're one and don't already have it in your calendar, the weekend of 31 May - 1 June is for you. That's when 'Dogstival' will once again transform Burley Park into the annual festival where our four legged friends take centre stage and have the time of their lives - with the even better news that most of their owners do too! So go on do it, make it a 'date' and book your tickets now!
And finally: Happy Half Term!
Best wishes Jane
