Introducing NFAD

New Forest Academy of Dance is a well-established, community-based dance school in Lymington, offering high-quality dance training for children, teenagers and adults from age 2.5 upwards.

We provide a wide range of weekly classes across ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, street dance and musical theatre, alongside a varied programme of workshops and holiday courses throughout the year. Our classes are carefully structured to support both enjoyment and progression, whether students dance purely for pleasure or wish to develop their skills more seriously over time.

At NFAD, we pride ourselves on delivering an inclusive, confidence-building environment where every student is encouraged to grow at their own pace. Our experienced teaching team combines strong technical training with a warm, supportive approach, helping students to build confidence, creativity and a genuine love of dance.

Classes take place primarily at The Lymington Centre, and we welcome beginners and experienced dancers alike. Trial classes are available, and new students can join at various points throughout the year.

Classes and training 

NFAD offers a comprehensive timetable of weekly classes during term time, including:

Classes are grouped by age and level, from early years through to advanced training, allowing students to progress in a structured and supportive way.

Workshops and holiday courses

In addition to our weekly timetable, we run a wide range of workshops and holiday courses for both children and adults.

For children and teenagers, this includes themed holiday workshops, skill-building intensives and our Associate Programme, designed for students seeking additional training and challenge. Our annual summer school, “Musical in a Week”, is a popular highlight, giving students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a full musical in just one week.

For adults, we offer themed workshops across a variety of styles such as contemporary, ballet, jazz, tap and heels. These sessions are open to dancers of varying experience levels and are designed to be welcoming, challenging and enjoyable.
