Careys Manor Hotel scoops gold award for Green Tourism
Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa in the New Forest has won a Green Tourism gold award for the second year running.
The country house hotel in Brockenhurst has retained its gold status after being assessed under the Green Tourism scheme, the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK.
Many good environmental and sustainable practices
The hotel and spa were praised for the many good environmental and sustainable practices they have in place, from the 97 per cent natural products used in the spa to the electric car charging point.
Other examples include the use of LED and excellent monitoring of energy and water consumption.
SenSpa director and green site coordinator Lina Lotto said: “We are delighted that Careys Manor and SenSpa’s commitment to green tourism has been recognised with this gold award.
“As part of the Greenclose Hotels group, we passionately believe that we should provide a service which meets the needs of our guests while striving to minimise the environmental impact of the hotel, setting an example within the industry.
“Being situated in the heart of the stunning New Forest National Park makes us especially keen to maintain high levels of sustainability across all areas of the business.
“All products used at SenSpa are sourced from only the finest local, natural ingredients, and have biodegradable packaging.
“Our company cars are hybrid and the hotel promotes car-free activities to its guests, with a 10% discount to all those who travel to us car-free. Careys Manor also donates £1 from every bedroom sale per stay to the Love the Forest initiative, which promotes education, conservation and responsible use of the area.”
