Fun Days Out
Rev up your Easter holidays with a visit to Beaulieu! It's a great time of year to visit Beaulieu, which has plenty to do inside and out - including the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey, World of Top Gear, the Secret Army Exhibition and more! See the sights, sounds and smells of motoring history come to life as vehicles roar into action in the Beaulieu grounds, then try on Victorian bonnets of a different kind in Palace House! Roll up your sleeves in the Victorian Kitchen and help Lord Montagu’s cook roll out Easter biscuits and join in with Easter craft activities. Younger visitors can also have their face painted with Easter designs.

Great things to do in Lymington!New Forest Adventure Golf is open throughout the holidays from 10am to 5pm. Built with children in mind, it's also fun and challenging for adults. The beautifully landscaped adventure golf course is a high spec 18 hole discovery adventure of the New Forest, including Isle of Wight ferry, Lymington and Beaulieu Rivers and New Forest towns and villages.
On Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday there'll be a special Easter egg hunt! Over the way, Goodall's strawberry farm will be opening for Easter weekend and hope to have a few strawberries and lots of lovely homemade cakes on sale. Yum!!
St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery is currently showing the 2019 Open Art Exhibition and all the St Barbe Young Artists' Open Exhibition. Visit the museum - a delightful and entertaining exploration of the history of Lymington and the New Forest Coast - and follow the Naughty Easter Bunny's chocolatey paw-prints around the museum during the Easter period. Claim your chocolate prize at the finish! And remember to plan a stop at the spacious St Barbe café afterwards!
Lymington’s Charter Market takes place along the length of the High Street every Saturday throughout the year from 8am to 4pm. It's by far the largest street market in the New Forest area with over 100 traders who regularly attend. Established in 1250, this traditional market with a great deal of history behind it is nowadays a special experience for New Forest visitors to enjoy.
Get out on the water!
Royal Lymington Yacht Club has an Open Morning and 'Crew Match' day on Saturday 13 April from 10am to 1pm. Find out about boating for the whole family - including Wednesday Junior Sailing for children aged 8 and over, which will start after the holidays.
Based in Milford On Sea, the New Forest Paddle Sport Company, offers you the chance to explore the scenic Solent coastline and Keyhaven River to Hurst Castle and beyond! Try the Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Castle Experience on Friday 12 and 19 April or the Kayak Castle Experience on Sunday 14 and 21 April. Over the Easter weekend there are a number of SUP taster sessions.
New Forest Activities have a number of outdoor activities for families. The Family Adventure Day combines kayaking along the Beaulieu River with cycling in the New Forest. Over the Easter weekend, go on a Canoe Easter Egg Hunt - enjoyed a guided family canoe paddle before disembarking for an Easter egg hunt with a twist! Meanwhile, Beaulieu River tours in canoes or kayaks give you more time out on the water, great for families with children aged 12+.
Holiday Adventure Days with New Forest Activities will be taking place on Thursday 11 and Thursday 18 April, learn about bushcraft and foraging, have a go at archery and try your skills on the low ropes and high ropes courses set in the woods.
Durlston Court Prep School has organised a number of activity camps over the Easter holidays, including football and tennis. Find more information here.

New Forest Hockey Club have Easter camps in Lymington on Monday 8, Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April. Learn and improve core skills with an England Hockey Educator and Hampshire Hockey coaches.
The Bournemouth Bay Run on Sunday 7 April will be raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and includes a 1km Family Run. For all ages and abilities.
On Sunday 14 April, join the Easter Bunny Run in Woodside Gardens, Lymington. Fun for all the family as you run, jump, hop or walk 3km around the Gardens. Open to all ages and abilities.
If the weather is kind, make use of our local facilities, including tennis courts, table tennis tables and outdoor gym at Woodside Park, plus the chess/draughts table at Bath Road Park.
Get creative with art & crafts!
On Tuesday 9 and Tuesday 16 April at St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery, enjoy a family-friendly jolly craft session and make decorations to help bring in some Easter cheer. Either take them away with you to decorate your own home or add them to the window display.

Learn about the New Forest and get hands on with crafts at an Easter Discovery Day at the New Forest Heritage Centre, taking place on Tuesday 9, Thursday 11, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 April. Plus on Saturday 20 April there's an Easter Craft Workshop.
Meanwhile at Lepe Country Park, Art Attack will take place on Tuesday 9 and Tuesday 16 April, environmentally themed arts and crafts with the rangers.

There are Egg-cellent Cookery Classes at The Kitchen at Chewton Glen this Easter! From Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 April Junior Chef Easter Holiday Camps and Teen Chef Easter Holiday Camps. Plus on Saturday 20 April there's a Junior Chef Easter Special and Teen Chef Easter Special. These classes are for 'some-bunny' who enjoys cooking and baking delights for the family!!

Drama, Film & Comedy
The Malt Cinema at Lymington Community Centre will be showing How to Train your Dragon: the Hidden World (PG) on Saturday 6, Monday 8, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 April and Dumbo (2019) (PG) on Friday 12, Saturday 13, Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 April.
Also at The Malt on Wednesday 17 April is a live performance broadcast of the RSC's As You Like It (12A)

Forest Forge Theatre Company in Ringwood are running a two day Costume and Make Up Workshop on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April, for children aged 13-18. ideal for GCSE, A Level and Btec Students, or young people with an interest in design. The theme will be sea life, so get ready to dive into the depths of your imagination!
Milford on Sea Primary School will be running 'Lights Camera Code' - coding and film making workshops from Monday 8 to Friday 12 April.
On Monday 8 April at Priestlands School, there's a Guitar Experience workshop with talented guitar tutor Joe Dunwoody who will teach some basics of guitar playing using school guitars. No experience necessary.
Understanding nature and our environment
It's Spring on the Farm at the Countryside Education Trust on Saturday 6 April, Meet the new lambs and the Trust's dexter cattle; cuddle an Easter bunny, feed the pigs, make a garden ornament, follow the Easter egg trail, sow seeds, make butter and have a go at lots of crafts. "The countryside for everyone": if you've never visited CET before this is a perfect opportunity and promises to be a great day out!
At the Countryside Education Trust in Beaulieu, Eagle Owls for children aged 7+ on Tuesday 16 April is all about crops for kids and gardening for wildlife. Come and help plant some weird and wonderful crops in the garden, learn about wildlife in the garden and building bug hotels and other habitats.
On Wedneday 10 April, at the Countryside Education Trust's Spring Bushcraft learn about firemaking, natural shelters and beds, tapping trees for sap, and its uses, working with birch bark and barkcraft, using pine resin and sprcue roots as well as a seasonal forage for wild foods and medicine.
Opposite Fairweather's in Beaulieu, join the Potting Shed Club at Patrick's Patch on Saturday 20 April. Worth a look around Fairweather's and enjoy coffee and cake in Steph's Kitchen whilst you're there!
This month Lymington Transition group challenge us to step out of our comfort zone, think about things differently and try something new - have a go at these suggestions over the holidays!
Lymington WI inconjunction with the Marine Conservation Society are holding their second beach and cliff top clean at Hordle Cliff (just west of Milfod on Sea) on Saturday 13 April.
On Wednesday 10 April at Priestlands School learn about the Secrets of the New Forest - such as all about the New Forest and the animals that live here. This workshop is led by Sue Palma, the New Forest National Park’s Education Officer. Fun for the whole family. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Learn more about the New Forest with seasonal activities at the Bolderwood Information Unit throughout the Easter holidays (Saturday 6 - Sunday 21 April). Plus cross over the road to the Deer Sanctuary and see how many deer you can spot!
The New Forest Reptile Centre is now open again for the season! Wild Wednesday is back on Wednesday 10 and Wednesday 17 April.

At Lepe Country Park, enjoy Seashore Safari on Thursday 11 April, Family Bushcraft on Wednesday 10 and Wednesday 17 April and Nature Detectives on Thursday 18 April. Plus on Friday 12 April try loT on the beach with micro:bit, citizen science, making and coding for 10-13 year olds.

Teen Yoga at The Natural Health Hub is the perfect place to unwind - especially if in the midst of revision for exams. A monthly session, the next on Sunday 14 April.
Mindful Making Morning at Priestlands School on Monday 8 April. Mindfulness can help you feel calm and happier. It can help with focus and concentration. A creative pebble work-shop. Take home your own handful of calm.
Things for preschoolers during the holidays
School holidays can be soul-destroying for parents whose children have not yet reached school age as many clubs, drop ins and classes only happen in term time. Thankfully the following are on during half term to help you retain some structure and sanity!
