Mission Milford-on-Sea beach clean - 23 July 2019

Leading family-run holiday park business Shorefield Holidays is inviting locals to join its beach clean at Milford-on-Sea, which is due to take place later this month.

Shorefield, which has eight parks across Hampshire and Dorset, is keen to help protect the stunning local coastline, and is encouraging its staff, holiday home owners and local residents to join the effort to help local marine life.

Simon Pollock, Chairman and Managing Director at Shorefield Holidays, says: “Our beach clean, which is in its second year, is a great way to demonstrate our support for the global fight against plastic pollution in our oceans.

“We’re on a mission – not only to help clear up our local beach, but also to reduce the amount of plastic used across our parks.

“We have already swapped all our plastic straws for biodegradable versions, replaced the plastic cups in our gyms with paper ones, and moved away from free plastic shopping bags to reusable bags for life.

“We also employ a company that takes away and separates all of our rubbish to ensure that everything is disposed of or recycled in the correct way.”

The beach clean at Milford-on-Sea is taking place on July 23, in conjunction with Surfers Against Sewage, an environmental charity focused on tackling plastic pollution to protect oceans, beaches and wildlife.

“Whether you live locally, are one of our holiday home owners, or work at one of our parks, we’re inviting you to take part and support this fantastic cause,” says Simon.

Anyone wanting to join the Milford-on-Sea beach clean should meet at the ‘The Kiosk’ on Hordle Cliff West, along Cliff Road, between 10am and 11am.
