This is a workshop exploring the creative process through songwriting exercises and techniques. Through these exercises, we engage with the here and now of writing, no expectations of the outcome, no attachment to finishing a piece, simply remaining in the creative process. Laura will offer new ideas and tools to encourage those new to songwriting or even the accomplished songwriter. This is a safe and supportive space to encourage and inspire one another.
What you need: A notebook and pen. We also ask that all class and workshops participants over the age of 11 wear face coverings in the venue.
Laura is a singer songwriter performing in two projects. Nanatoo: A Bristol based dirty soul band infusing infectious uncut rhythm with lush, soulful melody. And Selby and The Dharma Blitz: An alternative hiphop, funk project that merges arresting lyricism with a unique musical direction. Laura also writes her own solo material, collaborating with friends. Having completed a Masters in songwriting with Bath Spa University, Laura is now running songwriting workshops to offer those new to the art ideas and tools to develop their own songwriting journey.
"Laura’s workshop encouraged me with my writing through giving space and acknowledging me as a unique individual” Claudia Burnett (Into The Wild Festival songwriting workshop 2018)“Laura is a talented and experienced singer and songwriter with a plethora of songwriting and performing collaborations under her belt.
