The Shipyard - fishmarket, bar and kitchen - opened in July 2016 as a collaboration between fisherman and chef. The concept is to offer guests deliciously cooked fish dishes in the restaurant and also to offer the opportunity to buy local fresh fish to take home. And Lymington needed a good fishmonger!
Since opening the restaurant has gone from strength to strength and with so many diners returning it's now fully booked on even some weekday evenings. Freshly caught local fish is the star ingredient but the meat and vegetarian dishes are also delicious and the desserts simply sublime! The wine list has been carefully selected to complement the food and it's reasonably priced too. In fact with most main courses served with two sides included, unless you opt for the seafood platter (which is amazing and worth the extra!) you should be pleasantly surprised at the final bill.
Local fisherman Nigel sources the best locally caught seafood available for you to buy and take home or to have cooked in the kitchen.
Chefs Paul & Liam only source the finest local and seasonal produce, and cook it deliciously allowing the natural flavors to speak for themselves.
The restaurant opens from 9 am Tuesday through Sunday to serve a delicious breakfast menu...
Wednesday 09:00- 21:00
Friday 09:00- 23:00
Midweek 2 course Lunch £20 Tuesday-Friday including a drink

"Imagine a restaurant that can accommodate a large or small intimate group, work out an incredible set menu at a reasonable price. YOU need to go here to be treated by Paul and the Shipyard crew. I started with the fresh crab pate a dream! Fresh fish cooked to perfection amazing pomme frite - chips to you and me! But the crowning glory was the pickled rhubarb for dessert a taste to savour Convivial surroundings and a warm atmosphere we had a great time - Don't miss this out when you visit Lymington this summer." "Having had a fantastic meal a couple of weeks back, we decided to book the Shipyard for my wife's birthday this weekend. About a dozen of us arriving at various stages during the evening so we asked if we could reserve a table in the bar and order a range of bar snacks / canapes for our thirsty guests. From stunning charcuterie boards, oysters, various seafood nibbles continued to grace our table(s). Paul the chef went even further making us fresh bread and the smoothest pate ever. Lucy and the front of house team were also amazing, managing every detail or need. This bar/restaurant doesn't get the praise it deserves. One of the best places to eat in the wider Lymington area, bags of atmosphere and first class service. Thank's guys!" Visited May 2017
"Fantastic produce cooked well, simple!"
"The Shipyard "bar and kitchen" together with adjacent fish market, is a brand new Lymington restaurant which opened just a few weeks before our visit but already it feels like it's been there forever - and it's a seriously welcome addition to Lymington dining. We had a fabulous evening. The fish was delicious and really fresh, the wine excellent and well priced (our new favourite seafood accompaniment, Albarino) and the service a perfect balance between attentiveness, professionalism and friendliness . The decor is pleasingly contemporary yet comforting, the ambience relaxed and informal. For friends out on this Friday night for supper, it could not have been better. And just to note: whilst the menu prices may seem quite high, there are no hidden extras, and catch of the day comes with two generously sized sides included. As already said the wine prices are very reasonable. So the actual bill was a pleasant surprise. We'll definitely be back!" Jane, Bill and Stephen, Friday 5 August
