La Perle is a small family-run restaurant, where the menu is governed by what can be sourced locally. The restaurant overlooks Milford on Sea village green and is only five minutes walk from the seaside.
The Good Food Guide has highly commended La Perle in Milford on Sea. The kitchen at this restaurant is headed up by Chef Sam Hughes. The Guide has praised Sam for the fact that he deals with small producers in Hampshire and Dorset and readers praised the generosity of the food, as well as its pretty plating and big flavours.
Sam represented Milford-on-Sea in the TV series Professional Master Chef a few years ago. He has recently returned to the village and is now the proud owner of his first restaurant, La Perle. As a young chef, Sam trained under Raymond Blanc, who has been a positive influence on him over the years. It was during his time spent with Monsieur Blanc that Sam developed his passion for seasonal dishes made from locally sourced produce.
The New Forest is a key source of many of Sam's ingredients including foraged goods. Over 90% of produce are sourced from sustainable suppliers based in Hampshire and Dorset. Fish and seafood is delivered fresh daily direct from local fishermen.
La Perle have sourced local beers, wines and sparkling wine to compliment your menu, even local water! They infuse their own spirits, so expect to see 'Nettle Gin' or 'Quince Bellinis' on the menu.
They are also working with local ‘Conker gin’ and ‘Black cow Vodka’ both based locally to Milford.
Open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm plus Saturday 12-2pm for a Set Lunch or Brunch.
