Local potters have donated beautiful bowls, local restaurants and cafes are donating delicious soup, we just need to go and pay and eat it and can then if we wish take our empty bowl away with us. And whilst enjoying this fun we'll be supporting an important local charity.
It's all the brainchild of Jules Carpenter and Trina Hart to raise money for New Forest Basics Bank - money which has never been more needed, even here in Lymington and surrounding areas. That in itself may seem scandalous but at least we can do something constructive to help next week.
Local potters Vinegar Hill in Milford on Sea together with others in and around the New Forest have donated beautifully hand-crafted bowls out of which you will drink your soup.
Local restaurants and cafes at Stanwell House, St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery, The Larder and Greedo are all donating the soup. See below for days/times at each location.
By buying a bowl of soup during this campaign you will be helping to provide basic essentials for those who need this support in our community.
All these venues in Central Lymington are donating the all important soup for your bowls:
Stanwell House Hotel: Mon-Fri
The Larder: Tues - Thurs
The Old School Cafe at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery: Sunday from 11.30 (NB cafe is open to everybody)
This initiative was instigated by Jules Carpenter Pottery and Trina Hart of the Local Art Scene and is supported by Thesis Asset Management, Lymington Printing Company, Tony Jenvey from Solent Projects, Peter Cooper Ltd and Lymington Precision Engineering - along with an army of potters!
These are: Jules Ceramics • Jane Savill • JP Scribbles • IsDi Ceramics • High Ridge Pottery • Claudia Bailey • Sea & Sky Ceramics • Moon Studio Ceramics • Brick Kiln Pottery • Rachel Palmer • Muddy Puddles Pottery • Fran Fortesque • JustSo Ceramics • Vinegar Hill Pottery • Tim Thornton Ceramics • Three Just Potters.
Renowned New Forest potter David Rogers also runs a range of 1 and 3 day pottery courses at Vinegar Hill Pottery so if you're inspired contact Vinegar Hill to find out more!
Along with all the other potters Dave is delighted to take part in this project as it “not only showcases ALL the local potters’ work, hobby potters and professional alike, but is also helping such a worthy cause. There is such an interest and appreciation (as there should be) in handmade products at the moment, and so it is fantastic to get people’s work out there, being used as pots should be! And then inspiring more people to start making pots!”
