Yes! If you’re not a pensioner but would like to support Oakhaven Hospice, you can still book and pay the year round low price of £49.

Ear Clinic 5 voucher end Jan 2019

On the 1st December, your payment will be donated to Oakhaven Hospice, so you’re benefitting people in their hour of need. If you can’t attend on the day the voucher is valid until the end of January 2019.

Why are we supporting Oakhaven Hospice?

Many locals will know of Oakhaven’s Hospice, either through their own family or a friend’s. We chose Oakhaven as the first Super Saturday! beneficiary because of the number of local families they benefit. People like Cynthia Melsom, who asked us if we could do something for Oakhaven in memory of her partner Arthur Strudwick.

Mrs Melsom said: "Like many families we have suffered our losses. The staff and volunteers at Oakhaven were a blessing to Arthur and me, both as a couple and individually. It was our personal experience of the work at Oakhaven that, after Arthur's passing, inspired me to do something for the Trust by way of
thanks. Arthur always recalled that old saying 'you can't choose your family, but you can your friends'. The Hospice team at Oakhaven were certainly a friend to us in our hour of need."

“Ear Clinic, where excellence is not a euphemism for profit”

Mrs Melsom contacted us after reading about our ethos and charitable partnerships. She asked if we would be willing to help staff at The Oakhaven Trust. Charity No: 900215. This request has resulted in a no charge price concession for all paid Oakhaven staff attending Ear Clinic. Ear Clinic was funded as part of a charitable partnership. We support select public sector groups, other national and charitable organisations through all ongoing partnership projects. We will also support individuals like Mrs Melsom. We’re delighted that pensioners will benefit from Ear Clinic events.

Kevin Howlett, Director, said "This event marks the beginning of a charitable project with particular regard for pensioners who typically receive £140 per week income. Pensioners who wear hearing aids are greatly affected as earwax is compacted into the ear canal when inserting the aid(s). Through Super Saturday! events, lowering the price to £39 will certainly be a welcome saving, especially near to Christmas with rising heating bills."

Lymington is a pretty Georgian market town in the south of the New Forest. The town's sheltered position on the western bank of the beautiful Lymington river has made it an important settlement since the Iron Age. For many years Lymingtonians have made their living from the sea or the river - as boatbuilders, fishermen, sailors and in past centuries as salt workers and even smugglers! Today Lymington is an internationally famous yachting centre with a population of almost 17,500.

It’s not surprising that Lymington is one of the “Best UK Coastal Towns in Which to Live”. Combined with accessible road and rail links north to London, west to Bournemouth and east to Southampton and beyond, as well as the car ferry service to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, the town combines practicality with pleasure; the perfect work-life balance. There are many excellent schools and a wealth of local sports, clubs and leisure activities.
