It doesn't matter how much potting experience you have - total beginner or happy hobby potter Dave has plenty of time to tutor each individual, and so the making schedule can be flexible. As Dave is a thrower a large part of the course will be spent on the wheel learning the different techniques.
Pottery tuition begins at 9 (after a hearty breakfast for residential potters) and we stop at about 11 for a coffee break (cake provided!). We then work until 1 pm when we stop for a delicious seasonal homemade lunch . Back to the studio at 2 to 4, when formal pottery tuition ends, although you can work on if you wish.
All pottery courses end with a fantastically exciting RAKU firing day, when you can fire pots made on the first day in a raku kiln, take them out when they are red hot and throw them into a bed of sawdust - lots of fire, smoke, flames and fun! You can take your raku fired pots home with you, whilst the rest of your work can be fired and glazed by Dave and sent to you if you wish. There is an extra cost for this.
Cost is £120 including VAT per day.
