There are many glorious gardens on the shores of Lake Maggiore and Como in the mountains in the far north of Italy. Those included in this lecture are a sixteenth century parterre and water staircase, a baroque garden in the middle of the lake and two gardens made by rival Napoleonic grandees.
7pm coffee, 7.30pm lecture. Everyone welcome £7 pay on the door.
