Everyone is welcome to join the residents and staff at the lovely Woodpeckers Residential and Care Home in Brockenhurst, for a fun, friendly dog show to raise money for these two local charities
Entries on the day - just turn up at 2pm with your canine companion - or without, just come along and enjoy watching the fun and enjoying the stalls and refreshments!
£3 per entry to raise funds for Oakhaven Hospice and The Honeypot Children’s Charity.
Local Doggy Businesses will be in attendance as well as lots of local owners so it's also a great chance to meet fellow dog owners in the community and find out about other local doggy related matters too.
Colten Care have had a special Brockenwurst (Brockenhurst bratwurst) hot dog produced and dogs will be able to sample Pea-mutt butter doggy ice cream.
There will be a number of categories on the day - and also an agility course for dogs to use their natural intelligence and competitive instincts and enjoy!
(subject to small changes depending on entry levels in each!) (and this photo was from Dogstival!!)
There are some extremely fun and rather "different" dog show categories in this dog show so take a look, you may realise that your pooch has a particularly strong chance in one of these!
Dog who looks most like their owner
Best junior handler
Heinz 57 award - most unusual cross!
Colten Care Homes also offer a welcoming haven for people in the community who'd appreciate popping in for a little companionship and support and friendliness from time to time - with or without your pooch in tow! (Dogs are always made most welcome in Colten Care homes and residents love to see and meet them too.)
Nobody wants to feel lonely, but if we've lost a loved one and our families are not nearby it's inevitable from time to time; and that's when we can all help one another in various ways.
The staff are not only highly trained in their various roles, they're also warm, loving and friendly people, whilst the residents have amazing back stories and love to chat.
So if you live nearby and would like to, do also consider venturing into Woodpeckers on days other than Dog Show day! Anything from a cup of tea and sitting and chatting awhile, to joining in and even helping with some of the myriad of fun daily activities, the door is open and you'll be made very welcome.
