Baby Massage Course

Baby and Toddler Groups
Date: Tuesday, 09 July 09:45 - 11:15

This International Association of Infant Massage course draws from both the Indian and Swedish massage traditions as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology. The 4 weeks course (1 x 90 minute sessions each week) teaches parents and caregivers a sequence of rhythmic strokes and soothing holds which have been developed and refined over many years. The duration of the session also allows time for relaxation and informal discussion.  Parents and caregivers who complete the course learn so much more than just a massage routine. The comprehensive IAIM baby massage curriculum covers touch, movement, relaxation, interaction and communication.

The course provides many benefits for both parents and babies alike, inclusive of interaction and bonding, relaxation, relief and stimulation. Taking some relaxing time out to massage your baby can provide a wonderful opportunity for expressing your love, whilst also meeting the high demand for touch and affection that is so essential for the healthy development of all babies.

During the 4 week course you will learn:

The IAIM massage routine

A colic routine

Gentle movements

Touch relaxation

The course is suitable for all babies from 4 weeks old.

The course is led by an experienced Infant Massage Instructor trained and accredited by the IAIM.

Mats, massage oil, booklets and refreshments will all be provided.

The sessions will run on Tuesdays from 9.45am until 11.15am at Lymington Library.

The cost is £30.00 for a 4 week course.
