Planting seeds for future generations
Environmentally healthy happy October jobs are an investment in the future too: New Forest independent financial advisers Station Financial explain.
Ed note: this article follows Lymington and Pennington's Green Week last week, and prompts a reminder of the Pennington Community Allotment whose team display at the Eco Fair taught us lots of things we didn't know about home composting and greener growing. As we all appreciate more and more how vital a greener world is for the environment, so this pertinent article by Station Financial reminds us of other ways in which we can all help ourselves towards a happier and more secure future.
The Tree Council and the seed gathering season
The Tree Council have been organising the Seed Gathering Season since 1998. It's an autumn campaign designed to inspire people to begin gathering seeds, fruits, and nuts to grow the trees of the future.
Running from 22nd September to 22nd October, this is a season for planting.
At Station Financial we love this idea and certainly appreciate the concept of ‘planting’ for future generations.
We offer all kinds of financial products to help people look after their money both for now and the future.
One thing we can assist with is the setting up of trusts for children and grandchildren. Trusts are a great way to ensure security for your children or grandchildren’s futures and means that the fruit of your hard work now will become seeds for new fruit in future generations of your family.
A trust allows you to set conditions about how and when your assets are distributed when the time comes and means that your heirs receive the assets without any cost and without any delay.
Another advantage of a trust is that it can heavily reduce estate and gift taxes.
Of course, there are also other options to take care of money for the future generations, such as setting up Junior cash or stocks and shares ISAs or savings accounts for the little ones in your life.
A Junior stock and shares ISA is certainly a tax efficient way to save money on behalf of a child under the age of 18.
