Julie Taylor, (the gorgeous blond at the bottom of the picture - click frame to enlarge), has achieved something quite special in Hairdressing and beauty, and I feel I can say this with some authority having worked with some top International Salons and Stylists in the past. Julie has delivered on a vision to bring to Lymington, the kind of Salon that many women especially might unknowingly still drive for several hours to find. Whether it be Daniel Galvin's for colour, Smile in the King's Road or Nicky Clarke's for hair or indeed The Sanctuary for some Treatments and pampering; Girl's; you now need look no further than Lymington itself!
Why sit in the car or on the train for all that time in the heat and dust, when you can kick back on your doorstep and get the full head to toe experience? Beauty treatments include manicures, pedicures, St Tropez Tans, eyebrow shaping, indian head massage, aromatherapy, threading and gift packages are available for guys who want big brownie points at home. Example packages available include a 'Youthful & Radiant' and 'Bride 2 Be' amongst others.
When I met Julie and the Team, I was shown some hair extensions being painstakingly applied to a confessed addict, which is apparently not only increasingly popular, but certainly worked for me. ;-) I've subsequently heard that No.11 is reputed as the best for many miles at this and the Client I met was certainly tangible proof of that, having been coming for many years on a regular basis. Colouring is done using Goldwell products, which is where also most of the girls are trained on a continuing basis in London. At No.11, I'm also told that the very best Paul Mitchell products are used for hair care & conditioning.
One of the sure signs that a salon is stepping into the big league is the entrance of the stylists into major competitions and Emma at No.11 is following hopefully in the footsteps of Emma Sheperd who won last years' Hairdresser of The Year Award. Emma is entering the specialist Avant Garde category this year and we at LDC are poised with the biggest hugs and magnums we can muster in giddy anticipation. I got the lowdown on Emma's entry and it definitely sounds not only Avant Garde, but bold and baudacious. Hat's off to Julie also for supporting Emma's entry, which is actually no less than one would expect from such a cool Governor whose Salon buzzes with enthusiasm, warmth and very upbeat vibes.
The good news for me is that I've just resolved a number of imminent birthdays whilst also converting some long standing West End devotees; so I'm a very happy bunny. For you; well proof's in the eating as they say, but personally I think you'd be mad to venture any further! As for my fellow men, you seriously couldn't go wrong treating your partner to a few hours behind the doors at No.11. If you're in any doubt; remember that on '10 Years Younger' on Channel 4, where women have their bodies literally taken apart then put back together, the only time you hear a peep of either interest or concern is when it comes to their hair. That to me speaks volumes about where to start making women happy. So for us the way to our hearts is through our stomachs, but for her it's surely through the front door of No.11. JS
