The New Forest Tour Bus: Starting Saturday 27th May and runs to the first week in September 06

Come and explore England’s newest National Park this summer by taking the train to Southampton Central or Brockenhurst Station and linking up with the New Forest Tour Bus!!!! This low-floor, low-emissions bus offers a “hop on - hop off” service daily, travelling between key points – like Historic Hythe, the glorious Exbury Gardens, Beaulieu, ancestral home of Lord Montagu and Lyndhurst with its Visitor Centre and Museum.

Relax - Unwind - Refresh

Riding on top of the bus, you can enjoy the fresh air and picturesque views as you travel past wooded and open landscapes dotted with grazing ponies, cattle and chocolate-box villages and windswept coast. You are also encouraged to take the bike, as the bus has a cycle trailer with room for nine bicycles. The New Forest has 150 miles of car free cycling network, and is also easily accessible by rail, with 132 stopping trains arriving at Brockenhurst daily from all over Britain. You can even catch the Hythe Ferry from Southampton, a ferry route since 1575. Jump on the world’s oldest working pier train along the Victorian Pier to historic Hythe, which will be serviced twice a day by the Bus. The Tour Bus then stops eight times a day at Brockenhurst Station and connecting directly to a number of campsites, while passing close by many New Forest hotels and B&Bs – so there’s no need to bring the car at all!

A delicacy for every palette

As well as fantastic scenery and great attractions to visit, the New Forest is renowned for its superb food – there are talented local producers making cheese, ice cream and chocolates, and local specialities, such as the New Forest Breakfast, offering top quality ingredients from local farms. These are available widely at hotels and guest houses, or can be purchased direct from designated distribution points. Self-catering visitors can pre-order hampers full of sumptuous home-made goodies – or you can eat out at a wide variety of superb restaurants.
