Have you ever found yourself seeing people who just appear that little bit more colourful and interesting, travelled and cosmopolitan. You can’t put your finger on it, but they just seem to give off an air of positive happy energy akin, I suppose, to that feeling you get when you go on holiday to a new place.

This article has forced me to explore this and I’ve concluded that it isn’t actually because they have some unattainable magic reserved for a select few, it’s just because they choose not to always walk the same down-trodden route most of us tend to stick to, rather seek out the unusual and apply it constantly to their everyday life. Maybe it’s that unusual Indian shawl, Moroccan shoes or even a pink diamond that finesse some people or Thai furniture and African ornaments that change one’s home. Whatever it is, it isn’t one or many big expensive items, more some originality in the detail that makes the difference. Let’s face it these days you could spend a king’s ransom in Harrod’s and still be just one of a crowd.

With that thought in mind, I spent some time the other day with a truly lovely local lady called Pauline who has just started a business selling ‘POSH’ bags which she crafts herself and which are all totally individual and as the name suggests, very up-market. It’s ironic isn’t it that we all gravitate towards the likes of Prada, LV, Jimmy Choo etc. and yet thousands of pounds later still don’t as an ‘individual’ exude the originality described above. The style and uniqueness of all the bags that Pauline makes lovingly by hand and at a price which shows she is doing it as a passion not a cash-cow, provide the opportunity to stand out as someone who doesn’t play by the rules and make a statement about who you are. No one bag is the exactly the same and if you give one as a gift, it will surely delight.

The bags fall within three categories, namely;- POSH WASH BAGS – Elegant wash bags with drawstring top, built-in pockets and waterproof liners; POSH GIRL BAGS – Stunning multi-coloured and vibrant Handbags and Shoulderbags; POSH WORK BAGS – A variety of laptop size and holdall style bags for the funky professional.
