Pewaukee, Wisconsin—Constant refinements have kept Harken Headsail Reefing and Furling systems the choice of performance-oriented sailors.
This year Harken introduces the MKIV. This strong, lightweight, aerodynamic system for the racing and serious cruising sailor is built of the same quality materials as the performance MKIII, with longevity, ease of use, and simplicity of installation vital design considerations.
Pewaukee, Wisconsin—Harken Yacht Equipment has added a range of Cruising furlers to its popular furling offering. Cruising furlers are built from the same quality
materials as our performance MKIII and IV furling systems, with strength, longevity, ease of use, and price vital design considerations.
Pewaukee, Wisconsin—Harken has responded to the request of sailors and added a line of lightweight pivoting lead blocks to its strong Small Boat line of hardware.
Pewaukee, Wisconsin—Harken has upgraded its System C Battcars to feature its popular captive ball bearing (CB) technology. Stainless steel wire guides recirculate ball
bearings smoothly and hold them captive when the car is off the track. The System C features free-rolling ball bearings and Hardkote-anodized, one-piece aluminum cars, making it quick and simple to hoist, drop and reef sails in any conditions.
Pewaukee, Wisconsin—The Harken Pro-Trim (HPT) traveler system is the first of many applications of the DAME recognized Pro-Trim series. The HPT system was conceived and prototyped by Lou Varney of Diverse Yachts/Tropical Engineering, with development led by Harken custom engineer, Ethan Brown. This belowdecks system is a completely new concept that provides the trimmer with increased mechanical advantage and fingertip responsiveness. The system’s small footprint takes up far less space than other multiple-purchase belowdecks systems. The HPT also eliminates the need for hydraulics or heavy winches, alleviating the concern of weight up high.
