Harken Expands Sailor Tested Sunglass Line for Summer 2007
Harken has expanded its popular line of high-quality sunglasses to include a variety of new styles and colors that meet the needs of every sailor.
“We know sailor’s eyes are especially vulnerable to damage from the sun,” said designer Ryan Gallagher. “So we used the best materials available when designing our sunglass line to provide the highest level of protection.” Polarized lenses block ultraviolet light 100% and reduce reflected glare to virtually nothing. Lenses are tapered to eliminate distortion and reduce eye fatigue. Impact resistant polycarbonate brown/rose or brown glass lenses block blue light, increasing contrast and depth so sailors can spot marks, wind shifts or enjoy that perfect view with crystalline clarity. Glasses feature wraparound Grilamid® frames that are tough, flexible and provide a close fit to protect eyes from wind and water. Hypoallergenic frames are chemically resistant to sunscreens. Other details: a hydrophobic lens coating repels water, resists water spots and makes cleaning easier; an anti-scratch coating increases optical clarity; a mirror coating reduces glare, and an anti-reflective coating eliminates reflections.
