Reduce the cost of running your business and go 'green' at the same time

The New Forest National Park Authority and the New Forest District Council are working together to provide three free green workshops to address a range of sustainability issues that could reduce the cost of running your business and help the environment.

The first workshop on Monday 25 February from 11:30am-3:30pm at Cottage Lodge, Brockenhurst will focus on tourism and accommodation providers in the New Forest. The workshop will be specifically tailored to your needs and will address green accreditation schemes including the New Forest Green

Leaf Tourism scheme. Local Bed & Breakfast owner Christina Simons, will also be demonstrating the energy efficiency savings she has made since going green.

The second workshop on Wednesday 27 February from 10am-2pm at Cary’s Manor, Brockenhurst is aimed at local producers involved in the New Forest Marque and will focus on energy and environmentally-friendly packaging.

The final workshop on Friday 29 February from 10am-4pm at the Crown Hotel in Lyndhurst is open to businesses that are part of the New Forest Business Partnership, if you would like to attend and are not already a member, visit www.nfbp.org.uk to join.

The bespoke workshops will cover the cost savings that can be made through energy efficiency and waste minimisation, sustainable packaging, local purchasing and alternative energy.

Claire Gingell, Sustainable Development Fund Officer, said: ‘We are excited to be funding these workshops. It is important that businesses sign up to the workshops as soon as possible in order to ensure their place.

‘Each workshop will be tailor-made and designed to fit the needs of those businesses who attend on the day.’
