Home Farm - 'Says what it does on the tin!'
So there you are browsing the internet, somewhat blindly maybe, for somewhere to spend a day or more which wont break the bank, but will provide you with somewhere comfortable and welcoming which you can call 'home' for a few days. You'd like to be near enough to Lymington but have the benefit of rolling countryside views and perhaps as a safeguard against really lousy weather, it would be nice if the place you stay at has a lounge area where you can kick back with a good book instead of being confined to your bedroom. Well I'm pleased to say of course there are a handfull of those in the area.
Home Farm has all the above and a whole heap of things besides. Firstly Tiffany and Steve are young, vibrant and extremely good fun and will go out of your way to make your stay an enjoyable one. Secondly the building has been skillfully developed to seperate the B&B rooms from the family accomodation either side of a very attractive conservatory room with a wood burning stove and big old farmhouse table where breakfast is served.
It is true to say that the decoration is a constant work in progress but I kind of liked the mix of the Little House on the Prairie on the one hand and Blakes hotel on the other. Bedroom three being the Anouska Hempel styled black silk and splashes of arabian nights with a mosaic tiled shower room to suit. Bedrooms two and three are both much more cosy cottagy and where bedroom one has the views, bedroom two has a massive corner bath which more than compensates.
The thing about Home Farm and the reason you can stop surfing now and just pick up the phone, is that what you're looking for is here. Tiffany and Steve do, they'll admit, have further ambitions for the decor and yet there's part of me that hopes they keep it just the way it is. Home Farm is a proper B&B as I would wish to define it, which is a home from home, a place that is not too perfect that it makes you feel uncomfortable, but is well thought out, filled with warmth and allows you to slot in to your own temporarily adopted family atmosphere in the country. Tiffany, also a Solicitor, and Steve are genuinely nice people and the best compliment I can pay is that if I didn't live in the area, I would definitely stay there. I hope you are already dialling the number.....
