Thomsonfly, the third largest UK airline, is thrilled to announce today a new route to Prague from Bournemouth Airport, as part of the airline’s new winter 2006/7 programme. From just £19.99, holidaymakers will be able to experience the beauty of one of Europe’s most picturesque cities, Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
With flights at four times a week from November, the new route is launching after remarkable success for Thomsonfly from other regional airports. Flights are available to book now with fares as low as £19.99.
Prague, nicknamed the city of a hundred spires, is the perfect city getaway for both couples and groups of friends as well as becoming increasingly popular with families. With beautiful architecture best exemplified in Prague Castle, fantastic restaurants and a lively, varied nightlife, Prague has something for all ages and tastes. The stylish St Wenceslas Square, with its mix of high street stores and bespoke boutiques, is a great starting point for hitting the shops, and from October through to December the outdoor Christmas markets situated in the city’s old town are also very popular, making these months a great time to visit.
A total of seven destinations from Bournemouth are now on sale for winter 2006/7, including Malaga, Alicante, Salzburg, Faro, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and the newly launched Prague, meaning city breaks and winter sun are now in easy reach at affordable fares.
Maria Heckel, marketing director for Thomsonfly, said: “We are delighted to announce the new flight service to Prague, this is a great opportunity for people from Bournemouth and the surrounding area to visit the amazing city with the convenience of flying from their local airport and at low fares. ”
New Baggage Policy
This new route announcement coincides with Thomsonfly unveiling its new baggage policy. Thomsonfly has today announced a new baggage policy that offers the customers flexibility of how they choose to use their baggage allowance, whether it be in the aircraft cabin or in the hold. This comes at a time when many low fares airlines such are implementing policies to make customers pay extra charges for each item of baggage they put into the hold of the aircraft.
This flexible approach to luggage is Thomsonfly’s next step in ensuring it offers the most practical, cost effective and enjoyable flying experience. The new policy recognises that passenger’s baggage needs are dependent upon the duration of the trip and the reason for their journey. The policy gives each passenger a free baggage allowance totalling 25kg, of which up to 10kg can be hand luggage if they desire.
Thomsonfly wants to remain true to the ‘low fares’ label it now carries and believes that passengers should not be charged extra money to carry a suitcase for their trip - low fares rivals such as Ryanair and Flybe that are now charging up to £10 per bag on a return flight.
This new policy is in line with the new regulations set by the Department for Transport for maximum dimensions of hand baggage, which were issued two weeks ago and which are due to come into force by the summer.
Thomsonfly is now offering low fares flights to over 80 destinations from 24 UK airports - more UK departure points than any other airline. Flights can be booked at www.thomsonfly.com at any Thomson shop or by calling 0870 1900 737.
