Flybe, one of Europe's leading low fares airlines, today welcomes Ryanair’s introduction of charges for hold baggage, a model pioneered by Flybe in December 2005 and introduced across the Flybe network in February 2006.
Today’s announcement further indicates Flybe’s Fair Deal on Baggage business model is the future of the industry, consolidating Flybe’s position as a lead innovator in the low cost carrier sector. Flybe welcomes Ryanair’s acknowledgement of this position.
Since its launch, Flybe’s Fair Deal on Baggage has seen great success, with over 75% of passengers carrying hold baggage booking before they arrive at the airport.
