-Flybe launches first direct flights from Southampton to Frankfurt-
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, today launches its first ever flights from Southampton direct to the German city of Frankfurt.
With fares from just £44.99 one way including taxes and charges, travellers from the South have been snapping up seats, bagging a bargain break to the city. The service runs six times a week throughout the year with seats available for booking at www.flybe.com.
Flybe has introduced the direct service to Frankfurt following the recent acquisition of BA Connect earlier this year, bringing the total number of routes served by Flybe out of Southampton to 31 and increasing its links with Germany.
Frankfurt, one of Germany’s largest cities, is located on the Main River and is a key destination for business travellers as well as holidaymakers looking for a cultural and historic city break. The city has a wealth of hotels to suit all budgets and is the perfect destination to visit year round.
Says Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybe: “Travellers across the South have responded incredibly well to this service since we announced it earlier this year, with a mixture of business and leisure travellers keen to take advantage of our low-cost, direct service.”
“The acquisition of BA Connect has allowed Flybe to introduce further new routes to our key regional bases as we grow into a bigger and stronger airline, bringing even greater travel choice to the regions. As Southampton’s largest scheduled carrier, we’re committed to investing in the region and will continue to bring our low cost, high quality service to our customers.”
