Flybe Reveals UK’s Top Bank Holiday Travel Hotspots
While Spain may boast scorching sunshine and France its fabulous fine wines, Britain is still favoured for short breaks according to figures released by Flybe today.
Representing a 43% increase over 2006 passenger numbers, Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and Southampton’s largest scheduled carrier, will carry almost 22 000 Southampton passengers this Bank Holiday. 53% of this number have opted for domestic travel, followed by 21% travelling to France, 11% to Germany, Italy and Ireland and 12% to Spain and Portugal.
The most popular route for Southampton travellers is between Southampton and Edinburgh with locals looking to jet off to sample the cultural delights of the historic Capital city.
Other key Bank Holiday routes from Southampton include Flybe’s popular direct services to the Channel Islands, Glasgow, Dublin and Belfast.
