The Mayflower Review

The Mayflower - WEBSITE

The Mayflower is situated on King’s Saltern Road in a lovely location close to the marinas and yacht clubs and has views of the Solent and Lymington River.  It is a favourite haunt of locals, yachties and tourists alike in the summer months due to the fantastic garden and sun terraces, the fast friendly service, the great food, the atmosphere and the position.

The Mayflower is also a favourite haunt of those in the know throughout the winter months.  There is plenty going on during the week, every Monday there is a Curry Night – fantastic authentic dishes and accompaniments are prepared and cooked by the award winning company chef.  Every Wednesday is the now famous Quiz Night with the legendary Ian Woolly - if you fancy turning up it is advisable to book!

The pub has a cosy atmosphere in the evenings and a real log fire adds to the ambience.  There is a comprehensive new wine list from Bibendum and a selection of real ales including beers from the local Ringwood Brewery and from Goddard’s Brewery on the Isle of Wight.

The food at The Mayflower is great all year round, there is an extensive menu ranging from “light bites” to huge main meals and an ever changing specials board.  Sunday lunches are a firm favourite and again it is advisable to book.  At this time of year there are great set menu deals in the restaurant too.

The Mayflower and its highly acclaimed restaurant have been renovated in a stunning contemporary style yet the pub retains a traditional feel.  The emphasis is on simplicity, good food and good service.  This simple theme is seen too in The Mayflower’s sister pubs; The Wheatsheaf, recently refurbished and just across the Solent in Yarmouth and The more traditional Anchor on Cowes High street.

The Mayflower also has six large comfortable en-suite rooms.
