Nicole Farhi...one of the most admired designers in England & available at Stanwells!

Nicole Farhi is one of the most consistent, most successful and most admired designers in England. Her unique blend of easy but functional tailoring with luxurious separates has made her name synonymous with quality. Her label was created 20 years ago and now has a huge world wide following.

Born in Nice and trained in fashion design, Nicole began her career in Paris as a freelance. In the early 1970’s she moved to London and began her association with Stephen Marks at French Connection where she was head designer for 10 years.

In 1982 Marks launched the Nicole Farhi label, which gave Nicole the opportunity to design a collection that reflected the clothes that she wanted to wear.

Five years later the sporty, casual diffusion line of Farhi was launched. Since then the Nicole Farhi brand has grown to include swimwear, shoes, accessories and eveningwear.

Nicole launched her menswear collection in 1989 which is now as sought after as the ladies wear.

Farhi opened her flagship store on London’s New Bond Street in 1994, including the popular restaurant ‘Nicoles’.

Nicole also became one of Britain’s first designers to create a home range, combining glass wear, ceramics and antiques found on Nicole’s extensive travels.

Embodying Nicole’s signature style of understated elegance a flagship store opened one year after, just off New York’s Madison Avenue. Here in a 20,000 foot store can be found the familiar clothing ranges, home wear and restaurant.

‘202’ was born in October 2002 in London’s Westbourne Grove. More casual than her previous ventures but still offering the clothing, home wear etc. plus a chic all-day brassiere. 202 was so successful it was followed by another store in New York’s Chelsea Market.

Nicole’s latest store is in Dubai’s prestigious Wafi City Mall and features all the Nicole Farhi current collections.

Nicole Farhi’s A/W 07 collection is the ultimate in laid back chic. Luxury oversized knits, cinched-in trench coats and blanket coats in cashmere are thrown over printed dresses and fluted skirts. Wide leg trousers are worn with a tailored belted jacket, or worn under an easy tunic creating a long, lean silhouette.

The tonal palette of brown, black and gray highlighted with cream and ochre, wide brimmed felt hats, luxury leather handbags and belts give an edge to the look with Nicole’s suede high lace up ankle boots to finish.
