Over 132 exhibitors have signed up to display their work in the Art Pavilion at The New Forest & Hampshire County Show in July, and many more have applied. Places were given only to those who lived and worked within the
They will be bringing a fantastic variety of art including paintings in a whole range of different mediums; sculptures of wood, ceramics, metal and clay; and also wood carving. There will be demonstrations from four artists on all three days; Virginia Whiting and Cherie Wheatcroft painting, Ivor Fountain wood carving, and Penny Stevens at her pottery wheel.
The budding young local artists have not been forgotten either. Three schools were picked at random out of a hat and the best artist from Hardley,
Gervase Gregory, with the help of Alan Hooper and Claire Kitcher, is organising the event and plans are well advanced . 12 volunteer stewards will help each day of the Show to make sure everything runs smoothly. There are over 400 pieces of art available for sale, and the stewards will be responsible for taking sold items down and replacing them, to ensure that there is plenty for everyone to see over the three days.
The large 70 x 40 foot marquee on the showground will have the best of all the local artists, most are well known both locally, nationally and abroad. There will be a real family atmosphere as many are good friends.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an artist to have their work seen and appreciated by the thousands of visitors that come to the New Forest & Hampshire County Show.
