Anyone who has been to the New Forest & Hampshire County Show, knows that the showground is decorated with an amazing display of
plants and flowers. It has been the policy of the Show
Management Team to donate all these plants and flowers to the New Milton Rotary Club to sell to raise money for their charity.
After the Show the Rotary Club comes to collect these plants and shrubs and prepares them to sell on the following Saturday. This well known sale is held in Station Road in New Milton. This year, due to the generosity of the people of New Milton, the sale raised nearly £700. Some conifers and chrysanthemums which remained were later sold at the Club's August Car Boot Sale and raised a further £80 whilst other chrysanthemums were given to the gardens of local residential care homes .
The Club has held this sale for three years now with many people becoming regular buyers and very generous in their contributions. The Rotarians have enjoyed being able to brighten local gardens and at the same time raising money for local charities.
They would like to formally thank the New Forest & Hampshire Agricultural Show Society for their continuing help and support.
