Forestry Commission

The Forestry Commission – managing the Crown lands of the New Forest for wildlife, for people, for the future.

The Forestry Commission manages the Crown lands of the New Forest. Located right at the heart of the New Forest National Park and covering 47% of the total park area, it is one of the most important areas for conservation in the UK and offers a diverse array of recreational opportunities for both local people and visitors. Add into the mix that it’s a working forest with commoning and timber production at the heart of the local economy and culture and you have somewhere that is as unique as it is beautiful but that requires our ongoing care to protect it for the future.

If you want to know more information about the history and wildlife of the forest, where you can walk, cycle or horse ride or how you can get involved in helping protect this wonderful place then visit the Forestry Commission’s website HERE or call on 023 8028 3141.
