With an inspired and unique adaptation to an old idea, two entrepreneurial Lymington sisters launch a brand new service for New Forest residents.
Hayley and Amy Guerrier have named their business ROADRUNNERS and describe it as “an errand service for everyone”. Not only will the girls take an urgent package across town for a local business, or pop to the Post Office with the day’s mailbags, but they will also nip to the shops and pick up some vital items for your dinner party that were somehow forgotten as you heaved an overloaded trolley around the supermarket!
“We’d like to be able to help everyone in some way, at some time”, said Hayley, who also designed the Roadrunners eye-catching logo. “Business people are often really pushed for time and that’s where we can help, by running errands for them. But individuals can be just as busy, or perhaps unwell, and simply can’t get out and do the things they need to.”
“We’re really very flexible with the service we’re offering,” added Amy. “Although you can book us to run all kinds of errands at a particular time, we’re also a sort of “emergency service”. So if you run out of petrol, give us a call and we’ll bring you some! We collect and deliver what you want, when you want it!”
Roadrunners work through the daytime and into the evening with an extra-late finish on Friday and Saturday. So, if you collapse onto your sofa at half-past nine on a Friday night and decide that now is a good time to get a take-away, a DVD and a bottle of wine, a Roadrunner will be available to collect and deliver the lot while you sit comfortably at home!
“We’re really enthusiastic about our business”, said Hayley. “We saved up to put in all the start-up capital ourselves and now we can’t wait to get going and provide a really useful service to the whole community.”
Roadrunners opened for business on 1st November 2006, and you can contact Hayley or Amy on 01590 670028 for more information or visit their website at www.roadrunners.org.uk where the service is explained in detail.
LDC wishes Hayley & Amy every success with their new venture and look forward to meeting them soon to cover their progress.
