Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show are proud to announce they have partnered with youth charity The Prince’s Trust.
Prince’s Trust Ambassadors Kenny and Gabby Logan launched the initiative at Earls Court and joined a mix of industry exhibitors in supporting the partnership, as well as celebrating the return of boats and the boating community for the first time in four years to Earls Court. The Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat will be held from 1-9 December 2007.
“The Prince’s Trust changes thousands of lives every year, including helping unemployed young people find work through the maritime industry. This initiative will help many more young people get the jobs and training they need to turn their lives around,” said Caroline Wright, Senior Event Project Manager for The Prince’s Trust.
“Partnering with The Prince’s Trust is an important milestone for the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show. To be able to help raise money for The Prince’s Trust in addition to providing a first-class boat show makes this project even more rewarding,” said James Brooke, Managing Director of the Whyte & Mackay’s Earls Court Boat Show. “We have designed the Earls Court Boat Show to appeal to heartland maritime community, with something for all ages and interests.”
“Our motivation from the start, has been to recapture the magic of the Earls Court Boat Show and to bring together all of us who share the water. We want to make a positive and lasting difference to the boating community and maritime industry. Partnering with the Prince’s Trust is an important step, as it is our intention to be a leading and long-term force for good,” said John Vincent, Co-Founder of the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show.
“By creating a show that puts the customer first, it will directly benefit the visitor and in turn the industry. This partnership is an additional and very important way for us to directly and tangibly benefit the next generation of water enthusiasts as well as the companies with in the maritime industry,” adds Vincent.
In attending The Prince’s Trust celebration, Becci Eplett from J-UK and Key yachting said, “We are very excited about the boat show coming back to Earls Court. We think that the venue is just right to exhibit racing and performance yachts in both the J range and Comet. We are convinced that the timing in early December is absolutely right for buyers and this is supported by our phenomenally successful launch of the J/122 at the Paris Boat Show in 2006. Not only that, being able to raise the boats masts means that visitors can see the boats in their full glory.”
